I've got an officejet printer, but cannot make default B&W printing.

I've tried for years to install the HP software, but I've never been able to
get it to work. It won't recognise the printer.

I've tried using a few HP drivers, but can't find one where I can set it to
default B&W printing. Does anyone know one that'll do this?

Thanks

have same problems with 2575 printer, hp software seems to not work as
it should allways.

I've had this problem with 98, 2000, and XP, and two machines, the HP
software has never worked..

Strange eh?

Had alook at the HP website, the errors they do describe there which
can occure sometimes, all of them seem to be happening on my
installation too.

The remedy, entering some enumeration keys manualy into registry etc
seems to be rather crazy advise from HP.

Yeah the advice I got from HP was pretty bad.

I can't understand how a huge multinational can have such crap software.
What are they spending their profits on.. cocaine?
