I have recently upgraded some PCs on our network to Windows 2000. I have an
issue with some of the printers.

The HP 840 HP 1125 and HP 3820 printers will not let users print to them on
the local LPT Port. Only the administrator can print.

All other printers we use are OK.

Any ideas

That looks like a network issue, not a printer issue.
Somewhere, the necessary permissions have not been set. I
suggest you repost your request on a network NG.

Hi

I don't think it is a network issue as the problem is printing to the local
printer port (LPT1).

Cheers

Peter,

I had an issue like that it was a temp dir permissions issue,
I just set every temp dir to have full control by authenticated users and
that did the trick.

You shodul be able to use file monitor from sysinternals.com to determine if
there is a permissions issue.
