Hello: I have a fresh install of xpHome. It detects and installs my hp 607c
printer but it won't print anything, no test page, nothing from command
prompt or notepad or word. HP's web site says there are no drivers to
download as xp has them all. I don't know what to do, I'd rather not buy
another printer - it was working fine on 98se.
Any ideas please?
thanks

Sorry, just a typo. Actually the other responses, except the one from the
wierdo, told me to get a new printer.....I'd rather hear from someone that
managed to get it to work. Thanks anyway

If you look at the other post, you will see that I responded at length.

I will repeat it. Go to HP's web-site and see if they have released an XP
driver for your printer. I am pretty sure, the 670C is the printer I scraped
when I went to XP because, it was incompatible. However, I also scraped a
scanner, for the same reason and, about a year later the scanner Mfr.
released an XP driver.

There is no such thing as a 607C. There is, however, a 670C, and XP does
indeed fully support it.

XP will not, however, automatically install it. You have to install it
manually. Connect the printer and make sure it is online. Then install the
drivers by adding the printer from the Control Panel. You will see the
printer listed.

Hello Courtney - glad to hear some good news. However I still can't get it
to work. It's connected, online and I add it to Printers and Faxes in
Control panel, it installs fine but as soon as I ask for a Test Page a
balloon pops up immediately saying the document is not printing. I have a
scanner on the same port which works fine. The printer is plugged into the
back of the scanner - but if I plug it into the port all by itself it still
won't do anything. It won't allign the heads either - it gives the same
error about the document not printing.
Can you give me any more help please?
thanks

The document Test Page owned by Jim failed to print. Win32 error code
returned by the print processor: 3003 (0xbbb).

Just to try and help you help me - above is the Error message in Admin.
Tools, Event Viewer, System
I don't know what that means.
thanks again

OK guys, I found the solution - I changed the lpt settings in the BIOS to
'Normal' and now the printer talks to xp just fine.
Thanks for the help and I hope this helps someone somewhere
