While printing an E-mail, I inserted about 1 dozen new
peices of paper. Simpultaniously, the printer finished
one page and picked up all 1 dozen sheets of paper I was
inserting when it finished that top page. The printer is
still on, I cannot extract that 1 dozen sheets of paper
that have been picked up by the printer & moved into the
machine about 3/4 inch . What shall I do? Help?

Betty

I am not very computer literate, so I need detailed step
by step instructions.
Thank you for your help

And you can't pull the paper out because?
Try pulling out some of the sheets in the middle first. Turn the printer off
before doing this.

Read your printer manual. It may be in software installed with the printer,
or on the CD that came with the printer.

Firstoff...turn off the printer or unplug from the wall. That should release
some of the pressure on the paper. Try pulling out some of the sheets from
the middle and keep on going. After getting all sheets out look inside
printer for anything else stuck in there. Reboot your computer and printer
and try the printer with fresh paper.

1. Many years ago it was common practice with printers and
photo copiers to fluff the paper up, or whatever, before putting
it in the machine to prevent it sticking together. Your printer
manual may suggest doing this. Prevention is better than cure.

2. With the 12 pages just gone a little bit into the printer, it may
be possible/easier to take hold of a few of the pages at the centre
of the 12 and pull them free first.

3. Printer technicians may have a minimum charge on repairs,
no matter how small, so it may save you time and money to
read your manual carefully.
