After I upgraded from Vista x64 Home Premium to Ultimate I can no longer get
the Ink Levels for the printer. It worked fine on Premium but one it did the
Anytime Upgrade it stopped giving that information. I uninstalled and
reinstalled the drivers and software, but still no Ink Levels. HP tech
support was a complete waste of time as all they seem to be able to do in
India is read the same Knowledge Base articles I can can. All the other
functions of the printer works fine.

TomKo,

Check at the HP website (www.hp.com) for drivers. If your printer was
installed by the included in Vista drivers, then you may not have the "full
feature" set. The HP website usually includes a "full features" version of
printer drivers. Take a look and hopefully you'll find what you are looking
for. Other than that advice, Vista has no other way of providing what you
want. All vendors are required to support, or not to support, their own
products.

I have installed the most recent Drivers from March. Why the drivers work
correctly in Premium but not Ultimate is what is really confusing.

Did you upgrade to Ultimate or install fresh? I am wondering if I need to
manually remove all the files manually and delete the registry keys. I
uninstalled and reinstalled the whole package and I still can't get the
indicators... just "No ink information available from this device."

Did you do a clean install of Ultimate or upgrade from Premium? It worked
perfectly in Premium, but once my system upgraded to Ultimate it stopped
working. Something in the upgrade process must be interferring with the
driver. I have unistalled and reinstalled several times with no success.
