HP photosmart 7550 not printing

I am newer at trying to trouble shoot. Problem getting worse every week?
Can not print out Am connected as far as I see. Msg's come up ok as bar says it is printing to... and At first it was just once in awhile... And did print on notepad. Today did not print out.Tried printing from different places(email- notepad- other)
Went to Start-.All programs-access-type of file... menu and clicked on print from there NOthing... then Went to printer port from control panel/ptr-fax icon/file menu to properties Port tab....Ohh Question? at this point it said it was on LPT-1 port since that did not work.... I tried the HP photosmart bar and later the command port...??? question is should I click on the ?Add pot or configure port? orenable prt Or just the " OK" button. Nothing I "messed" with worked. I click on print and I get
Square with cancel/ close But not he bar across with the HPsignage it is prting at the bottom. how do i figure out the right port and the rest to connect? Do not understand what changed the prting it was working? And what is IP?

Suggest you uninstall and reinstall *PROPERLY*
