My HP 7450 printer just over a year old, started to feed more than one
sheet at a time. HP support cannot advise how to resolve this matter as
they consider the printer to be outside warranty. However, they
provided a premium rate number in order to get advice and assistance.
Could anyone in this forum group provide any suggestions?

We had the same problem with one of our printers. Take a look at the feed
mechanism with a good strong light. The rollers etc that grab the paper develop
an accumulation of crud over time and that causes that problem. I think we may
have used an old toothbrush and other means to clean things up. It was fine
after being cleaned.

The problem you describe is often due to using inexpensive printer paper
that leaves a residue of fine paper particles on the rubber rollers in the
printer that feed the paper. The residue makes the rollers slick and they
cannot accurately grab one sheet of paper. You need to open the printer and
clean the rollers gently with a wet cloth.
