HP pavillion sound card drivers

I have a Hp pavilion 504a and we reinstalled windows Xp
professional on it. Which well, let's just say it hasn't
gone well. I have no sound i have been trying to download
drivers but the system doesn't even see that there is a
sound card installed. How do i get a driver when i don't
know what kind of sound card this system has? Please for
the love of god somebody help me
 
Go to hp.com and type in the model number of your
computer and it will tell you what sound card it has and
also have the correct drivers for XP there for you to
download. In the future, I would make a note of all your
devices from the control panel before you put on a new
Operating System. I learned that from experience. I've
had to go so far as to open the case, pop the card out
and try to read the tiny writing on it! lol
