HP Pavilion/Soundblaster problem

Hi Group

Am try to record Playback Sounds (using Audacity) which I am lead to believe
the HP Pavilion won't do, hence buying a Soundblaster Live 24bit card.

Card won't install, in 1st slot - nothing - no screen - no computer -
nothing. 2nd slot got computer OK but no installation.

Windows XP can't detect it, Soundblaster Software says it's not installed.

Any ideas anyone?

Yes, this was one option suggested by HP. In fact they were very helpful,
told me which sound element
to disable/delete and - hey presto - it works.
