Hi Ho Silver

Hello. Trying to figure out what is different between the HP Pavilion
a1740n vs. a6040n, both rated for Vista. Comparison of specs on Circuit
City website looks nearly identical. To put it another way, what
differentiates the 1700 series from the 6000 series?
Thanks.

Hi,

A quick glance shows the A6040N to have a higher L2 cache on the processor,
and includes PCIe slots, whereas the A1740N does not.

Thanks for that bit of info, I had missed that on my first look. I guess
they are aiming at different markets with the two series of machines (among
many such series/markets, of course).
