I appreciate it's somewhat OT, but the HP related groups are bobbins.
I've got an old Athlon 1800 based HP Pavilion 7965. After having had it to
pieces to clean the dust out, I'm worried I might have put the rear case fan
in back to front.
As I 've currently got it arranged, the rear case fan (i.e the one in the
plastic duct) draws air out from the area just above the processor fan and
exhausts it out of the back of the case.
Does it sound like this fan is pointed in the correct direction? It just
seems strange since it seems to be sort of working against what the CPU fan
is doing!
