HP OfficeJet Model 300 - system error 205 - please help

I boutht this new many years ago and now we are both old. . Please
help me. I put in a new ink cartridge and it printed an entire page in
black ink. Changed to another new cartrige but same result. System
error 205. I am 75 and not very handy with computers or repairs but
willing to learn or try. Or is there a repair place in Houston Texas?

Error code 205 refers to a scanner error. HP recommends to cycle power
(i.e. turn off power at the wall, leave for a minute then turn unit
back on).

If error persists, check the scanner cable connections, clean the
scanner glass, replace scanner.

If this fails it may not be economical to repair your Officejet, and
others here may help with a recommendation for a new all-in-one.

Regardless, you have got quite a few years service out of your 300 if
you bought it new!
