HP Officejet 5601 fax over Ethernet

We have an HP Officejet 5610 with USB interface. The printer is connect
with a PC. Now we would print and fax over the network. We can only
print over the net to the Officejet in the moment. But it is impossible
to access the fax function. Is it possible to install an server tool
for the fax?

What fax software are you using? You can probably
choose between several (e.g. HP proprietorial and
Symantec Winfax) but you must instal one.

If you are using a Linksys Wireless Print Server, it says specifically
on the box for it 'Do Not Use With Multi-Function Machines'. I believe
that the Ethernet print server also says this. I think that the
'extended' functions of fax and scanning simply won't work with a
'standard' print server. I'm not sure how well the all-in-ones with
built in networking capability work.
