had a power failure-get a black screen-hit F10 button and
get blue screen and recovery system-have run this, but
when finished, windows still will not start-any
suggestions-if you would like, contact
(e-mail address removed)

Since you only have a recovery CD and that is not bringing you system up,
the next step would be to call HP tech support. If HP recovery isn't
working and by the way, this is their issue, not an XP issue, you need to
contact HP tech support; given there was a power failure, you may have a
hardware issue.

after running the recovery system, now the windows, lets get started setting up your computer screen comes up, the music plays, and you are prompted to click on "next" or enter F1-the problem is that the cursor will not move and when you click on the F1 key, the little man shows up and you are prompted to click "next", but are unable to do so because the cursor will not move. The little man just sets there. Since we did the advanced recovery, does the mouse hardware need to be reinstalled?

You need to contact HP support as this is not an XP recovery but a routine
designed by and for HP.
