In an effort to keep a LJ III alive, I've just installed a "paper jam"
repair kit (pickup roller, separator, fuser gear) following the instructions
in the HP service manual.

Now I'm getting a paper jam error before it even picks up any paper that I
can tell.

Any ideas on where to look first for the problem?

Thanks for the tip.

I tried re-installing the fuser according to instructions (several times),
but it still shows a paper jam error.

Do you have any other ideas?

Where is the paper jamming?

Small piece of paper in the paper path. Cheap paper. Fan the paper before using
it. The paper rollers after the fuser can be a problem at times.

The only thing that will cause an immediate paper jam is either the fuser
being installed improperly or the sensor arm on the fuser being out of
place. Did you notice the message
board on FYOP? It has some of the most knowledgeable experts on printers
helping solve
problems.

Be absolutely sure you did not miss a pin on the rear connector of the fuser.
Its very easy to install the fuser and have the connector be off by one pin at that rear
connector. Also Is there a error number showing on the display?
