Yes, I'm not sure of the model -- 1100 maybe 1200

Printed a CR9 report. Preview was as expected. Most of the text on
the printout came out exactly as expected (ie as typed) -- some
didn't.

All the text is the same font color etc.: Arial size 10 regular black

the "translated" text is consistent. For instance: "NY" is what I
expect to see but what I get is "1<"

Or "X" becomes ";"

What's even more peculiar is that some identical strings "translate"
and some don't. EG: "Brooklyn" is ok when embedded in "1234 Brooklyn
Avenue" but looks like "EURRNOQ" (with the letters crowding each
other heavily) when displayed by itself.

I can't believe its a Windows problem. Nor a font problem due to the
consitent use and inconsistent error.

Any meister have any idea?

Are you using a postscript driver?

I had this problem using this driver. I ended up using a PCL driver is
everything is fine now.

Try sviftview, it's a PCL viewer - something like a ghostscript for PS
files.
