Tim..

My trusty 2300 seems to be 'crashing'.

After POST it will either sit with the status lights flashing or "Ready" but
will not respond to any print jobs, nor button pressing. locked solid.

It will show itself on the network for afew moments during POSTing but then
vanishes.

Its got a regulalr jetdirect 610A card in it.

We had a power outage last night which may have fried it?

Any ideas?

Power off and remove the jetdirect card. Power back on and see if the internal
test pages print (configuration page). If this works the jetdirect card will be
faulty.

Tony-

The JetDirect card in an HP CLJ 4600 appeared to be dead after some
power fluctuations. It didn't show up when a configuration page was
printed.

I turned power off and removed it to see if there were any obvious
burned spots or messed-up connector pins. After several minutes, I
plugged it back in and turned the power back on. It has been working
ever since!

Yes I have seen similar to that, thanks for the reminder. I should have
sugested reinstalling the card if the printer works with it unplugged.

Follow-up, I replaced the jetdirect card (615n) with another I had here from
an old machine, altered the ip to match my network and away it went!

Thanks for the help.

Tim.
