I've booted from a Linux Live-CD that I have used for printing before, just to
make sure the OS isn't the problem. Printing to file works perfectly.
The printer produces a perfect test sheet. So the printer seems OK.
echo "hello" | lpr , prints hello. So the connection seems OK.
But, when I try to print from an application, nothing happens. The middle
light flashes on the printer, but no print comes out. When I run a test while
configuring the printer, I sometimes get about an inch a the top of the page,
then garbage on a second page.
I'm completely at a loss understanding what's going on here. Any idea?
