Anyone remember the site with a memory compatibility chart for HP
laserJets?

I just got a HP5m cheap and want to stick some more RAM in it.

I saw the site a few weeks back but can't find it now. Google is finding
1000's of results but mainly sales comparison sites :-(

Still looking ATM but if anyone has it to hand I'd appreciate a link.

Thanks.

www.crucial.com is very good at identifying chips for PCs. I assume
they also know about HP printers.

Thanks. That's not where I was thinking of but it's been a great help ;-)

I now know from Crucial that it's Fast Page mode ram I need.

I've already found from elsewhere that I can use 8, 16 or 32MB simms.

Trial and error identified that EDO ram doesn't work and the only FP ram
I've found so far was a piddling little 4MB module but at least it works.

I need to dig a little deeper in the piles of junk lying around hear.
I'm sure there's some 8 or 16 MB FP ram somewhere.

Just thought I'd explain for the archives :-)

Keywords to aid future searchers:

Look for memory for old IBM PS/2s.

Thanks ;-)

Someone emailed me that link last night and that is the page I was trying
to find.

It even shows how to "upgrade" the simms to HPs "standards".

That explains why some of the simms were not recognised, in particular the
EDO ones which I now know should work in a 5M.

I'll get the soldering iron out and have a go at setting the encoding
"jumpers" and see what happens.

Thanks again.
