HP laserjet HPPCL printing pitch problem

Hi,

We are trying to print on an HP laser with 17 cpi character pitch (HPPCL).
We used Esc&k#H (HMI) and Esc(s#H (pitch) commands and
could not succeed to get 17 characters per inch. Changing a little bit the
HMI or pitch either does nothing or changes by
important changes.

Has someone got an idea? More detailed information available if required.

btw I have done this > Please remove paspub when answering

copy this commands in txt file save it and call that file pitch.txt, you can
use notepad to do this

here are the commands, do the copy/paste from this message to notepad

%-12345X@PJL
@PJL SET SERVICEMODE=HPBOISEID
@PJL DEFAULT LPARM:PCL PITCH= 17.00
@PJL RESET
%-12345X
Z

After doing that copy pitch.txt from DOS or command prompt from computer to
you printer that is connected to LPT


copy /b pitch.txt lpt1


The printer must be ON and ready, after blinking some lights the pitch
should be 17

Have You tryed PJL commands to change pitch?
What kind of printer do you have?

Thanks for answer: No we tried PCL commands only. Printer is LJ3615.

It works .. thanks for your help. Cannot understand why PCL doesnt do it.
