hp laserjet 6L ->test print page is pale gray -- good for dumpster ?

hi

I bought this printer at a garage sale for 10$, but the person said it
worked.

Now when I try it, the test print page is pale grey.

I have tried with another toner cartridge (that I know has toner
inside) and the test page still prints only pale grey

is this something I can clean up myself inside the machine or does it
mean it is good for the recycling center ?

It sounds like a high voltage problem, it could also be a failure of the main
circuit board. In either event not worth repairing unfortunately.
