Hi Jagjr
These printers get the toner low warning when the electrical circuit is
broken between two points inside the cartridge - when the toner is low
it no longer touches both contacts and a toner low trigger is sent to
the printer. You will also get a false toner low if the contacts on the
outside of the cartridge are dirty or if they have been damaged during
manufacture.
Take the cartridge out of the printer and using a cotton bud dipped in
a little methylated spirits clean all the chrome electrical contacts
you can see on the cartridge, as well as the corresponding contacts
inside the printer. Make sure your printer is switched off and
unplugged from the wall before doing this.
Put the cartridge back in and it should work - if not there is a
problem with the cartridge or the circuits in the printer.
Also, never *shake* a toner cartridge - they only need to be rocked
side to side to loosen up the toner. Shaking can damage a toner
cartridge and cause it to leak.
