I have a HP Laserjet 2300 when i print any thing else it prints the
text with no pronblem but it also prints a light version of the test a
bit futher down on the page.

Is seems that the laser toner is priting two copplie on one page.

Any one have any idea what it could be

It is most likely the toner cartrdige, but to be sure measure the vertical
distance between the start of the correct image and the start of the ghost
image. Measure it exactly to the nearest millimetre and post that distance
here. I will be able to tell from that which part is causing the problem.

I got your e-mail.
9.5 cm is the circumference of the photoconductive drum in the toner cartridge.
A new cartridge will fix the problem.
