HP Laserjet 1100 - Pulling through 2 or more sheets of paper at once

I have had the HP Laserjet 1100 for nearly three years now, and it has
worked wonderfully; however, recently it began pulling through 2 or
more sheets of paper every time it prints a page.

Other than being a nuisance, this can sometimes cause the printer to
jam if 4 or 5 pages are pulled through.

Has anyone encountered a problem like this before? If so, is there a
solution for the problem?
