Does anyone know of a way to make web Jetadmin remember the device
description or how to assosiate a decription to the static IP, so if
the device is turned off or unplugged we can see which one it is
without referring to a 3rd party database ?

I'm running the latest version and use it mostly for monitoring
It's all working fine until a printer is turned off - then all I have
is 1 printer critical with "unknown device" and the only info given is
it's IP and Mac.

can anyone think of a way to keep a description local on jetadmin and
not on the jetdirect card?

We have always maintained an Excel file for all of our
static IP addresses, including thsoe for the printers.
We have never relied on JetAdmin for such record-keeping
because, as noted, once a printer has been disconnected,
there is not much more than the IP and MAC.
