Did you find a solution.

I have the problem when I run RegCure.
It is suggested HP on install creates an invalid registry entry. A re-install restores whatever this entry is.

The solution would seem to be to eit the registry back to what it was.

I wish I knew.

If your post is relevant to an earlier thread it's usually better to
reply to the earlier thread do that people will be able to find the
earlier posts and know what you are talking about.

He's posting from egghead, one of those useless forums that leaches off of
msnews, not likely he'll see your reply.

Is it reasonable for these useless forums to modify posts to
microsoft.public.windowsxp.hardware or similar newsgroup, claim
copyright and then disassociate themselves from the contents of the
amended posts?

My first thought was breach of copyright but a person posting would not
normally copyright the message. Plagiarism, perhaps not as they publish
the source of the material. Misrepresentation possibly because they
modify the contents of the original and attribute the amended version
to the original source. Consequences? I do not know. This was an
irritating discovery earlier today.

Oh I nearly fogot. To make a complaint you have to register and log on
to be able to use the Contact Us facility! BTW my discovery relates to a
similar site and not EggHeadCafe where the arrangements may differ.

Registry Cleaners (RegCure) should be avoided! These tend to create
more problems than the ones they are supposed to fix.
