Was running the HP IIcx on Win 98 SE machine with an AdvanSys ABP -
915 SCSI card. That machine is now dead. Trying to use same card on
Win 2000 Machine, but drivers do not work on this machine. Don't know
if I am brain dead or what, but have not been able to find drivers for
that card and Win 2000.

Anyone sucessfully useing an HP IIcx on Win 2000? If so what scsi card
would you recommend.

Thanks in advance for any help

Most if not all Adaptec PCI cards should work on W2K...it set up a HP
model 3 SCSI on W2k once with Adaptec 2906, about $20 on eBay.
Drivers, if needed, are on Adaptec site.

I run IIcx on 98SE also, we've seen any number of folks here running IIcx
and other SCSI HP scanners on W2K and XP (at least with Adaptec cards).

You'll also need ASPI from Adaptec (free) as W2K and XP don't come with
it. XP has drivers built in for most of the Adaptec's, I don't remember
if it did in W2K or whether I loaded one.

Oh, meant to mention, DeskScan 2.9 (I guess you're using DeskScan?) runs
fine on W2K and XP.

Thank You Mac,

Love this old war horse scanner. Has served me well for years. I also
think it was you who told me how to clean the glass and mirrors when I
thought the bulb was going bad. Thanks again for the input and advice.

Yeah, I actually wound up with THREE of them..
Two still in use now and then, and one refurb in the closet.
Wanna buy my refurb? Doesn't look like I'll ever need it for backup!

Mac,
No thanks on the refurb. Have 2. One I paid close to $1,400 for new.
and one I picked up at an auction for $75.00 with no cord and no
card.Brought the auction one home and set it on top of the old one,
swapped the cord from the original to the auction unit, fired it up
and have been useing it ever since as my primary. Works just the same
as my original. Get lots of comments about my "Big" scanner. My main
income comes from scanning large architectural renderings and reducing
them to 11 x 17 prints. Sometimes have as many as eight partials to to
seamlessly stitch together and color balance.Old IIcx and Desk Scan
2.9 get the job done just fine.

Thanks again for the info.

Goes to show that anything beyond what is actually needed for the job is
just overkill, eh?

Best to ya...I'd say you should be able to get that baby working fine
with W2K...
Just glanced at eBay, there's one PowerSeller there with several 2906's,
might could get this one for less than 20 bucks:

I am running the IIcx with 2k. If I remember correctly when I went from 98se
to 2k the driver (scandisk 2.9) was picked up automatically.
