Why is XP destroying all our printers that worked
perfectly with other Windows OSs? The more I try to get
it to operate correctly the worse it gets. First ascii
lines one line per page and would not cancel. Sometimes
prints two to four lines in text then changes to ascii and
starts one line per page again. I just bought a new HP
2.8 GHz Intel Pentium 4 and nothing but problems. I need
an answer fast or this computer will go back. It's not
worth my time. HP and MS says that XP driver should
operate the printer but it doesn't.

Be sure the BIOS setting is correct for the parallel port
