HP Deskjet 380 all in one won't scan

I bought a new HP Deskjet 380 all in one and I can't scan. I spoke to a rep
at HP and he said I need to re-download SP2. But Microsoft Updates states
that I am up to date. Does anyone have any suggestions? I have tried to
locate SP2 but just get last update.
 
Thanks. I do have the latest updates from HP because the software disc
checks for updates first. I ran the plug and play search and it did finally
install. It just won't directly from the disc. I will keep the link for the
SP2 just in case. I appreciate your help.
