For the last year when I change the ink cartridge the printer cover does not
close properly and the ink light stays on until after about 30 attempts to
close the cover one finally works. What can I do to fix this?

Take a flashlight and look around the edge of the door. You should
find a tab that contacts a switch in the body of the printer. That
switch is either out of adjustment, defective, or the tab on the door
is not contacting it fully. How you fix it depends on what you find.
You could make an adjustment to the door or the switch. You might
extend the tab with tape or epoxy.

You certainly have patience to stand there and close the door 30
times. The fact that it finally locks and performs OK suggests that
it's only an adjustment problem. Good luck.
