Hi

I'd been grateful for a review from someone that owns/uses one of these
fellas. In particular about A2 paper pickup (currently own an Epson
SC1520, where A2 paper pickup / feed can be a little tiresome to say the
least!).

Has anyone come across a retailer in the UK still stocking / selling the
Canon BJC 5500? (Looks to me like it's been 'retired' in favour of the
far more expensive Pixma iPF range?). What's the 5500 like with large
format paper feed?

TIA

The BJC5500 has been retired for about 5 or 6 years and neither it nor the
5000 are XP compatible. I'd look for a current model wide format printer if
I were you, the 5xxxs you'll find are going to be very used and may well
need new printheads, which would work out more expensive than purchasing
something current.

After the BJC came the i series, then the Pixma series. The wideformat i
series was the i9000 or 9500 in the UK. The Pixmas are the best quality of
all of them.... but they are pricey. Apparently all of them do about 7-12
wide format pages to a set of cartridges, so make sure you stock up on
plenty of ink. The Pixmas also use chipped cartridges.
