Dear Readers,
I had a bad system crash in Windows XP on my HP Compaq (purchased new
in Oct 2006). To make matters worse, after backing up all my personal
files onto another HD, the main hard drive Recover function did not
work. It crashed upon beginning startup of Windows XP install (after
formatting). Of course, I never made my own Recovery cds. Now the
F10 recover function doesn't work, and my 1year warranty just
expired.
Is there any way to access the Recovery information on the HDD to
create such a recovery cd now? or am I stuck and must order from the
company?
I figure I can install windows 2000 and access the partition. But
would I be able to create such a Recovery CD??
All advice appreciated.
