Hi All,

I have a Hewlett-Packard Colour LaserJet 2605dn printer which works fine,
but recently on checking the built in web server for the status of the
cartridges, it is showing a rather peculiar result.

The "pages remaining" count for the black, magenta and yellow cartridges
is going down accurately with the number of pages printed, but the count
for the cyan cartridge is actually going *up* in number rather than
down..! The percentage figure is decreasing correctly though.

Anyone any ideas..? It's not a major problem I don't think as the printer
prints ok and I have a rough idea how much toner is remaining, but it's a
strange one and I've never come across this problem before.

Ivor-

I'm glad to hear your 2605 is working well. Mine has been working like
a champ. I've printed a couple of 200+ page manuals double-sided, and
have never had a miss-feed. The only error has been when it was out of
paper!

I recently found a place on the web that sells the 256 MB 100 pin DIMM,
and upgraded mine to the maximum. So far, the only difference I've
noticed is that it takes a lot longer to start up when power is first
applied.

I wonder if your rising pages remaining count could be due to the
algorithm used in its calculation? You may have initially printed
things with a lot of blue. Now it sees less cyan toner being used, so
more pages must remain than previously calculated.
