HP CD Writer24

My computer has a hp cd writer cd 24 installed on the
copmputer but I keep getting error code 10 that teh device
cannot start, it's as if my computer doesn't recognize my
cd-rom drives! HElp!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
 
Have you install the correct drivers from HP before you installed the drive
itself?
