I'm using the software that came with the HP burner (Arc Soft Showbiz
2). I can't burn the VCD that way for the same 'media' rejection. Then
what I've done is use Window Movie Maker to make the slide show. I can't
save it to any other format except that one. So I open up the HP burning
software and import the 'file' that I made using Windows Move Maker and
again it will not accept the 'media'. I've tried seveal different types
of DVDs, so I'm thinking it is the .extension of the movie maker. I can't
save it to any other file type. On the Arc Soft, I don't have a clue why
it won't work. Very frustrating. Thanks for any help.
What sort of file is your slideshow? Is it an avi file or a wmv file, for
instance? In either case, you will need to convert that file to mpeg-1,
which is the file format used for VCDs. And then, as I mentioned earlier,
you'll need to burn it to CD-R media, not DVD-R media.
Information and tutorials on how to convert from various video formats to
mpeg-1, and how to create a VCD:
http://www.videohelp.com/ There is more
to converting a video file than just changing its extension, which will
NOT work.
