HP All-in-one scanner problem

I have an HP PSC 2110 that was working ok until I crashed.
I had to do a complete install of Windows XP and SP1.
Now the printer works, but Windows sees the scanner
in Device Manager as "unknown" instead of an Imaging Device.
All the drivers appear to be loaded.
I have tried the fix on HP's web site, it did not work.
Has anyone else had this problem? If so how did you fix it.
I have a second HD with Winme installed, if I boot to it
everything works fine.
