HP 970 Printing Skewed

My printer is printing skewed and I am hoping that someone can offer some
ideas.

It is skewed at appx 11:58 (clock orientation). I have already cleaned all
rollers to no benefit. Paper is in square and tight. I have removed and
reinstalled the cartridges. The test sheet prints out crooked too. The paper
tray and feeder is in square and tight, as well. The paper comes out
straight, the text does not.

Any ideas?. I am open to making an internal adjustment if that need be.

Thanks, Lar

One thing to check would be the duplexer. Remove and reinsert it, making sure
that the duplexer is snapped securely in place.

Hi Bob, good to hear from ya.

I forgot to mention that I don't have the duplexer on it anymore (I
put it on my 5550 instead!). I did pull the back off and all of the
little rollers on the cover are there and working. I cleaned the
internal rollers, too. This just started a week or two ago... for no
reason.
Thanks.....I hope you have more ideas, pleeeese,

OK, same drill but different back plate. If the back is not securely snapped
in place it can cause the issues you are seeing. If one of the latches is not
seated even by just a bit it can cause paper skewing.

Has anything changed? Some papers with hard slick finishes may also have
trouble feeding as well.

If you have not already check this the following may be of help:

Hi Bob, all those things are fine and I did go through the HP Knowledge Base
article already.

I recently did change color cartridges but I put the old one back in and it
still skews. I did pull off the rear cover, depress the interlock switch and
print a page. It seemed to feed to the back straight as an arrow and comes
out straight, too.

I just noticed that the bottom of the page seems to be a little less skewed
than the top. That would indicated it feeds crooked and straightens out as
it goes, but I watch it feed and it is very even. Thanks,

Lar

Hi Bob, I wanted to add that HP email support just had me do a "continuous
H" test and it is similarly skewed as my Word print out. I don't think that
this is a good sign.
