I helped my neighbor reformat his hard drive and reinstall Windows 98
SE. Everything went well except for getting his HP 812c printer back
on line. Windows recognizes it and asks for the driver. For some
reason, Windows can't locate the driver on the HP disk which came with
the printer, and it can't find a suitable driver in its data base
which will work.
We tried doing a direct download from the HP website but it put us
into a viscious circle. I also downloaded the driver to a CD but it's
a very large (2 Meg) .exe file which I can't get to run.
If anyone has a driver which will work with the 812 or perhaps 810,
could you email the file to me as an attachment? Send it to
