I'm a serious amateur photographer and I'm ready to replace my 1st
generation Epson Stylus Photo printer with something a little more current,
and while I'm drooling over the Epson 2200, my budget keeps nudging me,
telling me that I can't afford $650+ for a printer! Is there anyone here
who has tried both of these printers? If so, what are your thoughts,
opinions?

Thanks all,
Ray

I'm having the same thoughts, but more along the lines of "I'd like my prints
to last at least 10 years." I'll probably bite the bullet and get the Epson.

R800 is the best printer for photos.
If cost isn't a issue, buy it !!!

The R800 is a narrow carriage printer, unlike the 2200. It does, however,
use archival inks as does the 2200, unlike the 7960. They are all different
animals.
