I just bought a HP7595 Plotter at an auction. It works
great, but Win 2k does not list the driver under printers.
Win 95 & 98 have it listed ( HP Draftmaster 1). Is there a
way to import the driver from Win 98 in to Win 2K? HP no
longer gives support fot this plotter.

Thanks

I cant remember if that model understands HPGL or HPGL/2.
Under the list of HP printers in Win 2000 there is a
generic HPGL/2 driver. I would try that first. If that
doesnt work there are some Draftmaster drivers listed
under HP in Win 2000.

Things to note about getting it to work:
1. It is a serial communications device that requires a
crossed wire cable on the send and receive pins.
2. It is best to find a factory made cable that says it
is specifically for HP Plotters.
3. It is possible to make your own cable if you can find
the pin outs on HP's web site.
4. You will need to make sure your com1 or com2
parameters are set to match the device(baud, parity, etc.).

I have set up lots of these over the years and I know the
first time can be tough. Be patient. Good luck.
Michael
