HP 722c will not print from XP

I can see the print go to the spool in Xp and then go away
and not even attempt to print on the printer. I can use the
HP utilities to align the printer so I am sure that the
printer is seen by the computer. Any Suggestions?

Check the printer cable and connectors. Try switching in a known-good, IEEE
compliant cable.

I took the printer and cable to another system and they
work on that system. This machine is up most of the time
and this started to occure between reboots of the system.
I am at a loss to explain this.
