Anyone know how to turn off the dialing and ringing sounds on an
outgoing fax? I am in an office where it can be quite distracting.

Thanks

Stick an ice-pick through one of the speaker holes and lobotomize the thing.

Seriously, each fax machine is different and may or may not have such a
setting in setup. I'd find out where the sound comes from and try
duct-taping something over it. You should be able to at least muffle it
a little.

On Page 35 (39 in the PDF).
adjust the volume

Your HP OfficeJet provides three levels for adjusting the ring and beep
volume.

The default setting is Soft.

1 Press Menu.

2 Press 7, then press 5.

This selects Maintenance, then selects the Ring and Beep Volume option.

3 Press to select one of the options: Soft, Loud, or Off.

4 Press Enter.
