I am having trouble installing a new HP 6110 printer onto
a Dell Dimension 8100 (XP Home). This software goes on
fine but when the printer starts to initialize I get a
blue screen then a shutdown. After a check disk and
automatic reboot an error mess that goew to Microsoft that
says there was a device driver error. I am successful in
loading the printer onto a Dell Inspiron Laptop (XP
Professional). Is there an available device driver
sownload? Can I copy the laptop's device driver to the
desktop? Is there another solution?
Thanks
Joe

This might help, take off the software you loaded for
it, connect the printer and when it says new hardware
detected, put in the software only to load the driver
when it says looking for driver, load new driver (Have
disc), let windows pull off the driver from your software
without loading the program. could be a conflict problem
with the software, you may only want the driver and you
can still print with it without installing everything on
your software disc.good luck

It's conceivable that you could copy the driver from the laptop. To do so,
enter Device Manager and look at the driver tab in the properties of the
printer.

An easier way is simply to visit HP's website and download it.
Visit the following link and make sure this is your exact model number:
http://h20015.www2.hp.com/hub_search/product.jhtml?lc=en&pagetype=hpofficeje79477&lang=en&cc=us

(There are other similar models)
There are Windows XP drivers listed there available for download.
