Is there some way to get better output out of my HP 5L when printing PDF
files? The output is very light and often unreadable. Is the 1mb ram
limiting its output? Do I need a different driver or some Adobe pdf support
file? I'm using Windows XP Pro on an Intel 2.4. Thanks very much for any
help.

I've not had any problem with pdf's on my 5L and 1MB (Win98SE and Pentium 133).

Can you check and see what driver you are using and the date of the driver?
Is it the "normal" 5L driver or the "PCL" driver? Thanks.

"HP LJ5L PCL Driver PCL5E vers 1.30 dated 15/9/2000

This is the latest driver available for the 5L under 98 at the HP site as of
17/03/02."

File ex HP site is LJ622en.exe

Sorry, HP aren't able to do good drivers (especially for 5L, 6L).
Solution can be to use ghostscript (interpreter of postscript and PDF)
which have its own drivers.
In case of hardware problem, 1mb isn't problem because these printers
should go with memory problems to lower resolution (300dpi) - and then
lines are thicker no lighter.
