Hi

On boot up this printer takes a blank page and prints a single character in
the corner then spits it out.

Anyone any ideas on how to stop it ?

Its parallel connected at the mo (not tried USB yet).

TIA

You don't specify what operating system you are using. However, if you are
using Windows 98 (or 98SE), you can try searching for the file DRVPPQT.VXD,
renaming it to something like DRVPPQT.OLD, and then restarting the computer.

This was a workaround I had to use with my older HP Deskjet 882c when it was
connected to the parallel port under Windows 98SE. Otherwise, it would print
out a single accented "e" character and then eject the page every time the
system was restarted.

Standard disclaimer: although my system did not show any unusual behavior
after using this workaround--use of this workaround is at your own risk.
Also, I do not work for HP Support.

Thanks Daniel

I am using Win xp Pro, can,t find the file you suggest but thanks all the
same.
