HP 5550 Software problem

When I installed the software fot the printer, it installed a program called
Share-to-Web and put a share-to-web Upload Folder icon on my desktop.
Everytime I try to delete the icon (I have tried every way that I can think
of), my cursor turns into an hourglass and I have to re-boot, as the
computer will set there for as long as I let it and do absolutely nothing.
How do I get this icon off the desktop since I have already uninstalled the
program itself?

Right click on the icon and select delete from the
menu.
 
Try Windows Task Manager, there is probably an associated process running,
kill the process, then try deleting the icon.
Right click on icon to find what the shortcut is pointing to.
Try msconfig to see what's starting up at boot up.
Tried getting rid of it in safe mode?
Get a GOOD uninstaller, reinstall, then let the uninstaller remove it
(noting any locked files in use it complains about).
