I tried the HP 4670 when it first came out and it suffered from a banding
problem, where all my scans would have bands running through them, making my
scans pretty much useless for the graphics work I wanted to do with them...
I loved the design of the scanner, since it was a flat faced glass which I
could put against big pieces of artwork and scan it in as segments for
reassembly in photoshop.
I ended up returning it after a couple useless hours with HP tech support.
Then ran over some similar people complaining of the same problem, and
eventually saw a late review stating "The new driver fixes the banding
problem".
So, did this ever get fixed? Did anyone ever run into the same issue and
have it fixed with the driver update? Just curious if it was a hardware
problem, software, etc.... because I don't see anything else on the market
like that. I need to do the same type of scanning, but all the flatbed
scanners I've seen have raised edges around the glass, so the image won't be
in complete contact with the glass...
