Folk,

The specifications for the 4470C scanner list the maximal
resoluition as 1200 x 2400 dpi.

The HP Precisionscan Pro has menu item Scan > Preferences
which contains a resolution tab which allows me to add a resolution.
Regardless of what resolution I add, B&W bitmaps are reported to
be 300 dpi.

So how can I set a resolution of say 400 or 600 dpi for B&W bitmaps?
How can any resolution be set?

Thanks, ... Peter E.

Read your HP manual:

Look for Changing the Resolution of an Image.

I hope the above link does not break.

Good idea. The machine is departmental equipment.
If a paper manual ever existed, it is no longer visible.

It still works; thanks. The documentation could be easier
to find.

Documentation is much easier to find for other brands of scanners.

Most have a User Guide in PDF form.

HP is in HTML format and is not searchable. You can get to the index or
contents, sometimes.
