I'm running the above on an office network using linksys
equipment with a PSU4U print server. Three of four
computers can print fine (2 windows 98; 1 XP Home
edition); our newest computer, a Dell Inspiron 5100
running Window XP Professional, cannot. When I try to
connect the dell to the print server, the 4110 printer
icon gets removed from the printer and faxes folder. It
appears, from observing the hard drive activity, that
connecting to the print server port automatically
uninstalls the printer software from the Dell. This
happens whether I try to make the connection throught the
Linksys install CD or through the print properties, port
tab for the printer. Without the printer software
installed on the Dell, printing cannot occur.
I've contacted Linksys, who had no solutions for this
problem and looked in the Microsoft knowledge base with
no luck there either. Anyone have some suggestions???
Thanks! Barry
