I have a flashing "50" followed by "Service" on the LED display.
Unfortunately I do not have a manual.

Any words of wisdom concerning what this beast needs to become more
complacent will be appreciated.

Anyone with a manual that is not too dear to them would also be of
interest.

TIA

Fuser problem, the problem most likily a bad heat lamp or tempature
sensor. But it could also be a bad power supply unit. You can order
a exchange refurbished fuser for about 50-100 depending on the vendor
and model othe printer. The power supply is about 120 on an exchange
if the fuser does't fix it.

Check at http://fixyourownprinter.com or www.printerworks.com or
www.partsnow.com get there 800 number and call they have a tech
support line, I like them better than printerworks. fixyourownprinter
sells kits. printer works have the parts section of the service
manual online.

If I don't have the manual I use printerworks web site to get the part
number and price then I call parts now and find their price.
Any words of wisdom concerning what this beast needs to become more
complacent will be appreciated.

It's a work horse
